Hosting & Developers a partnership made in heaven?
In the famous words of Steve Ballmer "Developers, Developers, Developers" you would think that something like that sums it up. However, not really! As Microsoft continues its fight to dominate the world and software markets. The communities such as OSIV continue to build and enhance the productivity of developers that can work more and faster.
Especially in the ever growing Web Hosting space we see new ideas, and concepts everyday that haven't been realized by these huge companies (organizations). That's where the communities such as SourceForge, OISV and many others come in. Often (actually 6 times out of 10) a developer from a smaller community or company can have a better idea then a huge highly paid team of programmers. Well, it can be inverse, but rarely.
As we get into the Web 2.0 and the (Social Marketing) where our customers demand more and more, the developers are constantly pushed to make better, nicer, and smoother applications that run on the Internet. This is where reliable web hosting comes into play.
Hosting and Developers are like two partners, you can't have one without the other. If you look at it, Internet based programmers need solid hosting companies that are there 24/7. This is the very essence of why the Internet community is in such a boom, because of this very partnership. Developers are constantly working hard to provide stable, nice, cool applications (some even running on AJAX!) and Hosting Companies working hard to ensure that their customers / and developers are always online. Just like I was once told "a relationship is a two way street."
Everyone can say "it's simple to run a hosting company" in fact it really isn't. Much like programming you have to know quite a bit before you even venture out there, otherwise you will learn real quick how tough the market is.
Personally, (I hope that you guys agree) that the Internet is finally coming to another revolutionary stage where everything is becoming Internet based. One day I fully expect to see "Welcome to your Online Computer" screen that will load your OS online and have nothing stored on your PC at home or at work. - Now that would be a sight to see.
So the partnership between developers and hosting companies is only going to grow stronger as we get into the next digital revolution. I say, keep up the great work to developers. As web hosting companies we will do everything we can to help you achieve your goals and those of your customers.
