About Us - The Author at Camp Iwo Jima, Kuwait, May 2003

Why should you heed our advice regarding web hosting, domains, html editors, ftp clients, and other tools and services related to websites and web promotion?  Perhaps a better question might be why should you heed a webmaster’s advice?  If you’ve noticed, many rating sites profess to be rated by “Top Webmasters”.  While a webmaster may be skilled in HTML design it does not correlate that he knows much about internet technologies.  An understanding of web hosting or other internet technologies depends on much more than skill at HTML.  I will not pretend to be the most knowledgeable person about these topics but I’m not going to try to gain your confidence by a non-descript qualification that tells you nothing of my actual knowledge.  For what it’s worth, here’s an official “about us” bio.

Summary:  Personal, professional and operational experiences with internet technologies provide a unique perspective on the application of technology to solve real world problems.  I’ve deployed and managed a network supporting thousands with e-mail, web, and video applications for months in the harshest environments.  I have not only personally designed and engineered solutions but have managed hundreds with specialized expertise in all areas of communications and information technology.  The goal of this site is to avoid myopic perspectives of specific technologies with details left to others with specific expertise.  Rather this site aims to integrate technologies and tools and distill the information to the layman level.
